The project: Kukesi Trails is a project commissioned by the Municipality and implemented by Tirana Ekspres, Sfida.Pro, and Alpine Guide Albania. The project aimed to develop a sustainable and inclusive outdoor tourism site for Kukesi while creating new socio-economic opportunities for the rural communities of Kukes.
Our agency worked closely with the project partners to create an easy-to-use website that features self-guided and group trails around Kukes, including apps in Android and iOS. The project was based on the model of the previous project Tirana Trails, but with some more improvements tailored to the specific context and challenges of developing a sustainable tourism site in Kukesi.
The project included custom responsive design, WordPress-based architecture, custom posts for trails (km, difficulty, elevation, gallery, etc.), and bilingual design in English and Albanian. The website was also SEO-optimized for local and international audiences to ensure maximum visibility.
Thanks to these efforts, the Kukesi Trails project was a success, providing a sustainable tourism site that offers new opportunities for the rural communities of Kukes. Specific metrics such as website traffic or engagement could be provided to demonstrate the success of the project.
